Pat began his career with the Forestry Commission in the UK in the late 1980’s in their research division. This role involved the trialling of herbicides & pesticides and working within strict safety protocols.
With the skills & knowledge firmly entrenched, he started his own forestry contracting business in England. This ran successfully for many years before being sold to enable Pat to migrate to Australia in 1999.
Pat began working in the Bass Straight offshore Oil & Gas industry in 2000. Specialised skills in gas detection and respiratory protection equipment and emergency response enabled him to work in Bass Strait, Gippsland region, the Middle East, China, Europe and the Northwest Shelf of Australia. During this time he became a qualified Workplace Trainer & Assessor.
British Australian Safety Services was started by Pat in 2002 to provide OHS support to industry.
OHS Systems Compliance Coordinator
Tony began his career as a fitter and turner with Mount Isa Mines LTD (MIM) in the early 1980’s.The majority of his 16 years with the company was in Underground Coal Mining Fields of Central Queensland. During this time he was involved in the development of some the first OH&S Procedures in the Coal Mining Industry.
In the late 1990’s he moved to the area of technical inspections in the Bass Straight Oil and Gas Fields off the coast of Victoria.
During this time, he gained further exposure to the high standards of Quality assurance and Health and Safety and was involved in the development of the systems in place today.
In the mid-2000’s Tony returned to Central Queensland Underground Mining with Xstrata Coal where he took on the role of Underground Mining Coordinator. This role had the responsibility of daily Development Operations in the Mine and the responsibility of maintaining operational compliance to the Coal Mining Act and regulations.
In 2009 he returned to Victoria to the Sale district where he took on roles with various businesses consulting in health and Safety and Quality assurance.
In 2011 Tony joined the BASS team as OHS Systems Compliance Coordinator.
This role has the responsibility of development and implementation of sustainable systems to suit our varied client’s needs.
